I’m going to paraphrase an email I read this week.

Too many mainstream “popular” people’s emails aren’t as good as mine – they have horrible formatting and aren’t as entertaining and real.

She’s right.  I look forward to every one of her emails even when I don’t want what she’s pitching.

But then she said that entertaining stories are only half of the equation.  The other half is consistency.  Also true.

Shocker, I know.  A business automation specialist getting all teary eyed over the scaffolding that habits and consistency bring your business.

This fits everyone, everywhere.

I love lifting weights and I’m in the gym 4 days a week.  That’s 16 times a month.  Of those 16 visits, I’m highly motivated for maybe 6 of them.  8 of them I go because I know I won’t ever regret getting the workout in even though I really don’t want to go.  The other 2, I would pay you to light me on fire rather than want to go.

But 16 times a month, you’ll find me in the gym because I have a massive scaffolding of habits around my workouts.

In your business, half of your scaffolding is documentation.

AKA Standard Operating Procedures.

The other half comes from building the habits to get stuff done.  That’s usually the hardest part for us solopreneurs who can sit back in our chairs and scan Facebook because no one’s around or run over and throw a load of laundry in.

So I have 2 resources for you to build your scaffolding.

One.

Two.

I also want you to make me a promise.

Please stop thinking that there’s some secret sauce that you don’t know yet.  There’s not.  You know what you need to do, you’re just missing the faith in yourself that you know what step to take next AND the habit of taking that step forward.

Both of those resources will help with that too.
